Steven Allerick has some very exciting projects in the works! Known for his role as Benji Draper in season 4 of “The Expanse,” he has been seen on hit shows like “Supernatural” and “Nancy Drew,” and will soon be seen in a G.I. Joe spin-off called “Snake Eyes” opposite Henry Golding.

Colleen Bement: Tell us about any projects that you have in the works.

Steven Allerick: I just wrapped on a blockbuster and I have a recurring on a TV show about to come out. Unfortunately, I’m signed to an NDA for each of those, so I can’t really talk about them. Other than that, I have an episode of Shonda Rhimes’ Station 19 coming early in the new year.

CB: You play a Delos Guard in “Westworld” season 3, episode 6. This series is one of the best on TV. Just how cool was it to be a part of the show?

SA: It was an amazing experience and a great opportunity to learn. I really appreciated the specificity of the world they’ve built. I can’t explain the feeling of knowing you are a part of a show that well done.

CB: You were recently in episode 6 of this first season of “Nancy Drew.” What was that like?

SA: “Nancy Drew” was another really great experience. The difference here is that the show hasn’t been aired yet, so it can be a challenge to grasp the correct tone. Luckily, everyone on set was super helpful and excited to be a part of it.

CB: You had a guest role as Cal in ‘The Rupture’ episode a few weeks back on “Supernatural” The set has a reputation of funny stories from the set. Do you have any that you can share?

SA: Unfortunately, I don’t! My scenes were sort of out on my own without any of the main leads, so I think everyone ends up trying to find their own footing and they can be less comfortable to joke around.

CB: How did you get into acting?

SA: That’s a long and loaded question! But the very short answer is I was in a play and during it’s run, I realized how we were changing the points of view for the audience members, and how much we were able to move them. From there, I searched for every possible way to do this as a profession – I was the recipient of the first-ever entrance scholarship to the Ryerson Theatre School, which is one of the top theatre schools in Canada (where I’m from), and that helped open doors for me to get my first agent and so forth.

CB: Can you share with us any hidden talents that you have? The quirkier the better.

SA: Well, I sing and write music, which isn’t that quirky. I play mahjong (I am of Jamaican-Asian descent and it’s something my parents used to do with their friends). And I can fold my tongue into a clover shape!

Season 4 of “The Expanse” returns Dec. 13, 2019. Get on board!
