Netflix is one of my favorite networks to write about.
I sink down into my comfy chair with no idea what to watch. What am I in the mood for? Sci-fi? Horror? Comedy? I don’t even know what I’m in the mood for. Do I feel like watching people kick the crap out of each other with an action movie, or do I feel like falling in love with a hopeless romance? Do I want vampires? “Van Helsing” to the rescue. Should I avoid being a slave for trends and watch the brutal “Squid Game?” Done!
Maybe I’ll learn how to bake something with “The Great British Baking Show.” What to watch? Problem solved. Netflix!
Netflix and I go WAY back! I used to look forward to walking to the mailbox to grab my precious red envelope with DVDs to binge. It’s blossomed into this monster company that has pumped out award-winning content snagging Emmys, Golden Globes, and Oscars. Sure, the network has a little cheesy content, but for the most part, it has everything I could ask for.
That’s why when I heard that shares of Netflix plummeted more than 35% last week after their earnings report, I got a bit worried. The streaming platform lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter and probably has more bad news to come. Selfishly, all I can think about is how I want my “Schitt’s Creek” and “Supernatural” at my fingertips.
Lately, they’ve been treating Anime fans to some amazing new content along with a library list of TV and films. Which is perfect, because I am all aboard the Anime train and diving deep into some creative content. Coming up on May 23rd season 2 of “Ghost in the Shell” will be hitting our screens. And remember when I mentioned vampires? Anime and vampire lovers will learn about that fateful meeting of a human and a vampire queen that just might change the world with “Vampire in the Garden.” That show comes out on May 16th.
Whatever I am in the mood for, Netflix has my content.
