A Drama-doc that uncovers the humanity of one of the world’s most famous disasters

Tom Hiddleston, renowned for his iconic role as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is taking on a very different kind of role—one that delves deep into the ruins of ancient history. Surviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston is a groundbreaking drama-documentary series that reexamines the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. that buried the Roman city of Pompeii. Produced by Plimsoll Productions and executive produced by Kevin R. Wright (Loki), this series offers a unique blend of documentary storytelling and dramatic reenactments.

Hiddleston, an avid enthusiast of ancient history and a Classics graduate from Cambridge University, leads viewers on a journey back in time to uncover the lost voices of the people of Pompeii. Rather than focusing solely on the disaster itself, Hiddleston’s quest aims to humanize the victims of this world-changing event. In each episode, he unearths stories of everyday Romans—their hopes, their fears, and their final moments before the eruption. Through powerful narratives and stunning visuals, Surviving Pompeii brings these long-forgotten lives to light, allowing us to see Pompeii not just as a tragedy, but as a city full of resilience, individuality, and humanity.

The Solar System as You’ve Never Seen It Before

Get ready for a cosmic experience that combines science with a touch of humor. Meet the Planets is an innovative new show from Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and BBC Studios Science Unit that tells the story of our solar system in an entirely new way—by giving voices to the planets themselves. In this whimsical and informative series, the planets will speak for themselves, revealing their personalities, quirks, and sibling rivalry in a way that’s both entertaining and educational.

Rather than focusing solely on the science, Meet the Planets takes a playful approach, framing our solar system as the most dysfunctional family in the universe. Each episode takes viewers on a journey across space, with each planet offering their own take on their place in the cosmic family dynamic. Whether it’s the hot-headed Mercury, the cool but distant Neptune, or the jealous Earth, these celestial bodies bring to life the drama and comedy of our solar system. It’s a fresh and fun way to learn about the planets, their moons, and the mysteries of space.
