June 24, 2025 marks the digital debut of the grounded sci-fi romantic dramedy that dares to rewrite the rules of memory and love. After a limited theatrical run across North America—including select cities in New York, California, and Georgia—Guacamole Yesterdays is heading to digital platforms. The film will be available to rent or purchase on all major VOD services beginning June 24, 2025.
Blending science fiction with raw emotion, Guacamole Yesterdays invites audiences to explore the delicate intersections between memory, heartbreak, and healing. The story follows Ames, a cartoonist reeling from a painful breakup, played by Sophie Edwards (This World Alone). In a bid to make sense of her past, she begins therapy with a specialist (Adetinpo Thomas, Hawkeye) who utilizes experimental technology that allows patients to relive and manipulate their memories. As Ames revisits key moments with her husband Franklin (Randy Havens, Stranger Things)—from their electric first date to their heart-wrenching final goodbye—she begins to lose her grip on what’s real. Caught between nostalgia and truth, she must make a choice: cling to a version of the past that never was, or face the reality she’s tried so hard to forget.
Directed by Jordan Noel and written by Hudson Phillips, the film is produced by Michelle Moreland and Hudson Phillips, with LaSean Smith serving as executive producer. The ensemble cast also includes Charity Cervantes (Doom Patrol), Megan McFarland (Irresistible), and Brice Anthony Heller (Will Trent). “I’d love for audiences to walk away questioning whether our lives are defined by our past circumstances and trauma, or whether we have the power to take the reins and redefine our own stories,” said screenwriter and producer Hudson Phillips. With its innovative storytelling and emotional depth, Guacamole Yesterdays promises to be a must-watch for fans of heartfelt sci-fi—and anyone who’s ever wondered what they’d do differently if given the chance to rewrite the past.
