With Meet Me At The Record Store, The Summer Set throws open the doors to a world that’s equal parts nostalgia trip and present-day pop-rock perfection. It’s a record that feels like flipping through dusty LP sleeves in your favorite neighborhood shop, only to find something brand new that still feels like it’s been waiting for you all along. Spanning 12 tracks over 41 minutes, the album officially landed on August 15, 2025, via LAB Records. Fans can grab it digitally or as one of several collectible physical editions (split-color vinyl, CDs, signed postcards and exclusive posters), turning the album itself into a tangible artifact, not just a playlist entry. (You can find those here)

The opener, “For The First Time”, sets the tone with shimmering guitar riffs and a soaring chorus that feels like the start of an endless summer night. From there, “I Don’t Wanna Party” brings an almost cinematic sense of urgency—equal parts youthful recklessness and knowing self-reflection—before “ADIDAS” kicks down the door. That lead single is pure pop-punk adrenaline: bright, brash, and undeniably catchy, with a chorus that sticks in your head after the first listen. A few songs in, the mood pivots. “Miserable (feat. Jax)” slows the pace without losing intensity, blending two voices into a conversational push-and-pull of brutally honest confession. “Algorithm & Blues (Over & Over)” cleverly marries playful wordplay with pointed commentary on modern digital burnout, riding a groove that’s impossible not to nod along to.

The emotional core of the album may lie in “What I’m Made Of”, a track that strips away the party lights to reveal something rawer—overcoming self loathing and self doubt, and an almost confessional honesty of how finding something real can heal in ways you didn’t know you needed to heal. It’s a song that proves The Summer Set aren’t just crafting earworms; they’re telling stories that bare their souls. Later, “All Of Us” and “34” weave a tenderness into their melodies, providing a moment of strength and resilience between the anthems that implores you to never give up. Finally, “Dizzy” closes the album on a cinematic, bittersweet note—a hazy, slow-burn fadeout that feels like the credits rolling after a perfect night.

Coming off 2022’s Blossom, Meet Me At The Record Store feels like a fully realized next chapter. The band has always excelled at fusing high-energy hooks with heartfelt lyricism, but here the songwriting is tighter, the arrangements more adventurous, and the thematic throughline stronger. This is an album about connection—about returning to the physical, tangible joy of music in a world that’s gone overwhelmingly digital. The title isn’t just aesthetic; it’s a statement. There’s an intentionality in the sequencing, the physical release formats, even the lyrical nods to discovery, youth, and memory. In an era of algorithms and instant skips, The Summer Set have delivered an album meant to be played start to finish, preferably while holding something in your hands—liner notes, a vinyl sleeve, a Polaroid from the night you first heard it.

Meet Me At The Record Store is a love letter—to music, to the moments it soundtracks, and to the people we share it with. It’s an album that manages to be both breezy and substantial, nostalgic and fresh, polished and heartfelt. Whether you’ve been following The Summer Set since their early days or you’re stepping into their world for the first time, this is the kind of record that makes you want to flip it over and play it again.
