Iconic monsters brought to life by gorgeous modern artwork.

Nerd Alert News has a treat for classic horror fans. Award-winning author Anthony Taylor sat down with us to chat about horror and art and everything in between. Atlanta area fans know him as the organizer of Monsterama, the retro horror and science fiction convention. His articles have appeared in Famous Monsters of Filmland, Fangoria, Screem, Horror Hound, Retro Fan, SFX, and many other magazines. His books include The Future Was FAB: The Art of Mike Trim, Arctic Adventure: An Official Thunderbirds™ novel, The Art of George Wilson, and, recently a book that we highly recommend, Cinefilmania! In June 2024, he was inducted into the Rondo Hattan Classic Horror Awards Monster Kid Hall of Fame. And, of course, Nerd Alert News readers love him for his popular column Apes on Film.
Anthony’s latest book Classic Monsters, Modern Art brings these timeless monsters of the 20th century to life with a modern look of stunning artwork. It features more than 65 contemporary artists and illustrators from Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon, to Godzilla, King Kong, Freddy Krueger, and more.
This amazing hardback belongs on every horror fan’s coffee table. Watch our interview and see why we recommend Classic Monsters, Modern Art as a must-have!
