Why I’m excited for Fan Expo Denver
The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom is headed to Fan Expo Denver. I was already looking forward to that weekend, but the addition of Bloom definitely ramped up my expectations. I can watch Will Turner swashbuckle as a pirate or save Middle Earth as an Elf any time. Now I’ll get the chance to meet him in person. And with 4 Hobbits, an elf, and a dwarf coming to Denver, you can bet that I’ll be there. Bloom will join LOTR alum Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, John Rhys-Davies, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan in celebrating another year of Fan Expo Denver at the Colorado Convention Center May 28-31.
Lost stars will also be in Denver. As a fan of the series, I am looking forward to meeting Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), and Dominic Monaghan (Charlie). These characters survived a plane crash, uncovered island mysteries, and questioned literally everything they believed in. I’ve got questions for them!
Guests and More Guests
To top it off, guests with the likes of Alec Baldwin, Mike Colter, and a personal favorite of mine, Joe Pantoliano (Goonies, The Matrix, Sense8). And, leading star-studded ‘Hazbin Hotel’ line-up are two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle and fellow Broadway luminaries Joel Perez, ‘Wicked’ alumna Lilli Cooper, and ‘Mean Girls’ star Krystina Alabado, to bring a level of theatrical prestige to the con floor. And, of course, the talented comic creators will be there to meet their fans. Creators like Sean Gordon Murphy, Skottie Young, Simon Bisley, Brett Breeding, Tom Cook, Joe Corroney, and so many more. Interested in making the most of Orlando Bloom’s visit to the Mile High City? Attendees have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the event “On Stage with Orlando Bloom” scheduled for Sunday, May 31. General admission is free, but to guarantee your spot, fans can purchase exclusive ticket options, including Gold and Silver panel tickets or the Ultimate Backstage Orlando Bloom Experience. This special experience joins the “An Evening with the Hobbits: In Celebration of 25 Years” panel on the same day, making Fan Expo Denver a must-attend event for my fellow nerds. Other reasons that I’m excited for Fan Expo Denver are the creative chaos with taking as many photos and videos as I can. I’m looking forward to seeing friends that I haven’t seen in a year. I’m looking forward to panels–celebrity and fan-run panels, the junk food, and the cosplay. Yes, especially the cosplay! Which reminds me; I need to get to work on my cosplay!
