It was a Sunday afternoon and three of Godzilla’s biggest fans celebrated the coolest Kaiju ever. With the November 6th release of ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ this week, these three nerds discussed why the franchise remains so incredibly popular. They explained the multiple eras of Showa, Heisei, and Millennium. The three chatted the good, the bad, and the cheesy with Toho’s Godzilla versus the American versions. Nerd Alert News’ editor, Colleen Bement, hosted System Reactor herself, Chris Murdock, and Author, William Latham with deep dives and rabbit holes of classic and modern Godzilla.

Chris Murdock is known for her infamous System Reactor gaming streams where she considers herself a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a warm tortilla, served to you fresh using patented space-age technology. Also, a variety streamer. She is your weird trans goth aunt.
Bill Latham lives in a weird hybrid universe of technology and films and novels and generally has an opinion about almost anything — he loves cheap and low-budget and low-brow and high-brow and other brows as well. He can’t decide between which Godzilla action figures to place his Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee figures because they might obscure Chop-Top from TCM2. You can find him at williamlatham.net. There are so many facets to Kaiju. Godzilla is the icon, and there is a list of other favorite monsters from Japan that the world has grown up with. Die hard fans revel in the Showa Era of 1954-1975 which includes the classics of ‘Godzilla’, and ‘Godzilla Raids Again’. It introduced us to Mothra, Ghidora, Hedorah, Gigan and the rest. The Reiwa Era from 2016 to present day actually has some incredibly good content such as the Oscar-winning ‘Godzilla Minus One’ and ‘Shin Godzilla.’ Of course, there were some clunkers in the mix, but who doesn’t love watching Godzilla fight, crunch, and destroy?
