Denver Pop Culture Con took over the Colorado Convention Center with three full days of “star gazing,” cosplay displaying, and non-stop programming that people’s cameras never stood still. The event took place May 31-June 2, 2019 and brought fans from as far away as New York, Connecticut, and even Australia!
Cosplay was out in full force. Attendees of all ages brought their best in celebrating sci-fi, anime, horror, fantasy, gaming and everything in between. As always, the creativity of the cosplay kept eyes wide open and the cameras ready.
Big names in Pop Culture spent the weekend in Denver like Zachary Levi, Dave Bautista and Sean Gunn, Emmy Raver-Lampman, “Firefly’s Jewel Staite and Summer Glau, Catherine Tate, Cary Elwes, Jim Beaver, George Takei, “The Magicians’ Hale Appleman and Summer Bishil, “Back to the Future” reunion with Christopher Lloyd and Tom Wilson, Ming-Na Wen, and the cast of “Critical Role.”
“Game of Thrones” lovers met some pretty famous extras!
The Q&A line was long and excited for cast members of “My Hero Academia.”
Author guests like Terry Brooks, Matt Holm, Carrie Vaughn, C.R. Richards, and way too many to list. The list of celebs was long and exciting and fans grabbed the chance to meet their favorites up close and personal for photos and autographs.
The Merchant Mesa, Artist Alley, Author Alley, and especially the incredible children’s programming at the Pop Culture Classroom area. The inspiration behind Denver Pop Culture Con is the non-profit that brings pop culture literacies in our 21st-century classrooms. The family atmosphere created an ideal space to bring all ages, and the sight of children in cosplay shared smiles across the Colorado Convention Center.
