Award-Winning Wyatt Cenac Scores Cartoon Network Deal

Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios have secured a deal that brings Emmy Award-winning producer, writer, and performer Wyatt Cenac on board. It is a cross-studio deal between the two powerhouses and they plan to develop and produce original animated shows that will appear to a variety of audiences. There will be content for everyone ranging from preschool kids to adults and entire family viewing. Cenac is already hard at work with two projects in development: An animated long-form movie and an adult animated series. Looney Tunes Cartoons executive producer and Showrunner Pete Browngardt will be on board to bring out even more original material and will give them access to extensive character and franchise libraries at each studio.

Get to know Wyatt Cenac.

He started his career back in 2002 writing for four seasons on “King of the Hill.” The multi-talent also has a Grammy award nomination under his belt. New Yorkers know him as a stand-up comedian who is attentive, inquisitive perspective (AV Club), and he has a hilariously understated style (Paste Magazine). He has 3 Emmy Awards and one Writer’s Guild Award for his work as a writer and popular correspondent on the hit late-night Comedy Central series “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” His credits also include recurring roles on the popular Netflix series “Bojack Horseman,” Fox’s “The Great North” and “Bob’s Burgers,” and FX’s “Archer.” Wyatt also starred in the TBS alien abduction comedy series, “People Of Earth,” with Joy Randolph and Ana Gasteyer. He served as an Executive Producer on Terrance Nance’s Sundance Film Festival entry “An Oversimplification of Her Beauty.”
