From the moment I cracked it open, I was hooked. What started as a quick five-minute flip through turned into a full half hour of completely losing myself in its pages. Taylor’s writing captures not just the movies themselves but the memories and emotions that come with them. His perspective brings these films to life all over again. Reading Cinefilmania felt like taking a nostalgic stroll through my own cinematic past. Memories came flooding back—like lying on the couch watching “Mr. Roberts” with my mom and wondering why a kid like me loved it so much, yet I did. I could almost hear the laughter, the tears, and even the songs from those days. Back then, with only five or six TV channels, you watched what was on—and you made memories doing it. I remember babysitting late into the night, watching “Night Gallery,” and jumping at every creak and sound outside.

Thanks to companies like Criterion and Kino Lorber, so many of those classics are now beautifully restored on Blu-ray and DVD. And thanks to Cinefilmania, I’ve discovered even more films I want to explore—like Ishiro Honda’s “The H-Man” and “Battle in Outer Space,” and I’ve already added “When Worlds Collide” to my re-watch gem list. One of the things I love most about Cinefilmania! is how it’s both fun and useful. The Apes on Film crew never holds back their opinions, helping readers decide what’s worth their time. Honestly, I wish I’d read their take on “Waterworld” before spending $10 (plus snacks) at the theater!

In short, Cinefilmania! is equal parts entertainment and recommendation guide—a delightful companion for any classic movie lover. It’s smartly written, affordable, and full of heart. I grabbed my copy on Amazon, and I can’t recommend it enough.

The collaboration that put together this amazing book is made of of Anthony Taylor, Lucas Hardwick, Chris Herzog, and John Michlig. Anthony Taylor is an author, journalist, and screenwriter known for The Art of George Wilson, Classic Monsters, Modern Art, and Adventures in the Retro Hi-Def Film Forbidden Zone. He’s beloved among fans of “Space: 1999″ and “Thunderbirds,” a member of the Horror Writers Association, and a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards Hall of Fame inductee. For a taste of what’s in store with this book, many of the Apes on Film’s reviews can be found on Nerd Alert News

If you love movies, memories, and great writing, Cinefilmania belongs on your shelf.
