Calling all Goonies fans—get ready for an unforgettable adventure! On October 3, 2025, “The Goonies” will celebrate its 40th anniversary in the heart of its filming location, Astoria, Oregon. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the movie or just discovering its legendary charm, this special screening hosted by On Set Cinema is an event you won’t want to miss.
Be a part of celebrating 40 Years of “The Goonies” in Astoria, Oregon. This place is more than just a town, it is the birthplace of “The Goonies.” This charming coastal city served as the backdrop for the beloved 1985 film, where Mikey, Chunk, Mouth, Data, and the rest of the gang set off on an epic treasure hunt to save their homes. Now fans have the chance to relive the world of the Goon Docks at the very spot where the movie was filmed. A special 40th Anniversary screening of “The Goonies” will be held at the historic Lower Columbia Bowling Alley. Remember when Chunk sees the Fratelli family’s wild police chase and smashes his Pepsi cup and pizza against the window? Yep, that scene was shot right there!
Fans can either reserve a group ticket that includes a bowling lane to enjoy some bowling before the screening or an individual ticket to simply hang out inside the bowling alley and watch the movie. “The Goonies” soundtrack will be booming and there will of course be Pepsi, pizza, and video games! In addition to the screening fun, there will also be doing filming locations bike rides.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan who knows every line of dialogue or someone who just loves a good adventure, this screening, and celebration is a must.
