Sunday night’s “Doctor Who” episode ‘Rosa’ has the internet a buzz. Fans are calling it one the the best episodes of this past 11 years, and are comparing it to the original “classic” Who episodes. The TARDIS visits Montgomery, AL in 1955 where The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and her companions come across a seamstress named Rosa Parks (Vinette Robinson). Concern arrises as they believe that someone is trying to change history.
Rosa Parks, known as “the first lady of civil rights” stood up to a bus driver refusing to give up her seat in the back of the bus to a white passenger. She has a key figure in the Montgomery bus boycott and was such a strong and brave woman that helped change the future. “Doctor Who” fans weigh in on Sunday night’s extradinary episode, ‘Rosa’.

Commenting on how another series “Timeless” tackles time travel.
“To be fair, “Doctor Who” started in the 1960s and “Rosa” was very similar to those classic episodes, where they used the show to teach not only history but also science through the program. I’m glad “Timeless” does it too, but “Timeless” didn’t do it first. ‘Rosa’ is a brilliant episode and really felt like a Classic Doctor episode in the Modern Doctor era. Episodes like ‘Rosa’ are how and why the show started”.
Michael Dougherty
“For the longest time, I feared “Doctor Who” would not return to this type of an episode. ‘Rosa’ is the episode that made me stand up, point at the screen, and shout “THIS is Doctor Who!”
Odile Thomas
“The last 3 episodes have been brilliant but Rosa has been exactly what “Doctor Who” should be all about: thrilling, entertaining but also educational, allowing children and parents to talk about our shared history”.
Isobel Hoy
“Enjoyed it, despite the bad guy being 2 dimensional.
“Doctor Who” started as an educational children’s show. The first episodes included stories about Marco Polo, the Stone Age and Ghengis Khan.
This was getting back to that kind of story and I am really not missing the story arcs and complex plotting of recent seasons”!

“Enjoyed it thoroughly! I’ve caught up on this new Doctor, and I have to say I like her better than I thought. Just going over history like that really opens my eye’s to how bad racism really is. Although we still have racism its better. Loved how the Doctor and her companions dealt with the time traveler. BRILLIANT FANTASTIC AL ONSZ GERONIMO all wrapped up in one”!
Next week’s “Doctor Who” episode will have spider haters quivvering.
