Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill were announced today as Fan Expo Denver guests. As the Thirteenth Doctor, Whittaker not only inspired young girls, but she brought a fresh new take to the “Doctor Who” series. Her rainbow stripe and that blueish-grey coat will no doubt be a popular cosplay this year. Mandip Gill played one of her companions, Yasmin “Yaz” Khan. Both talented actors should prove to be interesting guests. Whittaker came to prominence after her breakout performance in Venus (2006), which was met with a string of nominations, including British Independent Film Award and Satellite Award nominations for “Most Promising Newcomer” and “Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical.” Gill is known for her roles in “This Time Next Year, “Curfew,” and “Suspicion.” She studied BA Hons Acting at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston, Lancashire.
