Sparkles, bubbles, and comfy shoes! Welcome to the Early Birds Club, a dance party for people who love clubbing but also love a full night’s sleep. No judgment. No awkward hovering by the wall. Just a giant room of women, trans, and non-binary dancer lovers who came to party. The Gothic Theatre in Denver hosted the event Fri, Mar. 6th, and Nerd Alert News was there. People came at 6 PM, danced like it was 1999, and wrapped it all up by 10 PM so everyone could still wake up the next day without feeling great. Honestly, it was genius.
And on the feet? Sneakers, cushioned boots, and dance-ready flats. Because this crowd came to move, not to suffer for fashion! The vibe was pure joy as women, trans, and non-binary dancers filled the room with the kind of carefree energy you rarely see in a late-night club scene. No judgment. No awkward hovering by the wall. Just a giant room of people who came to dance.
DJ CYN was on stage spinning absolute bangers from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Pop. Hip-hop. Throwback anthems. The kind of songs that triggered an instant “I forgot how much I love this song!” reaction, followed by many sprints to the dance floor. And there were bubbles! Whitney Houston’s “I Want to Dance With Somebody” had everybody on the floor basking in the bubbles and singing at the top of their lungs.
The standout of this event was the environment itself. The event is designed as a safe, welcoming space especially for women and gender-expansive folks. The result is a vibe that feels more like a communal celebration than a typical nightclub. And a random guy yelling “WOO!” into your ear while you’re trying to dance.
Good music, good vibes, and a good cause. This party wasn’t just about dancing. It gave back to the community. Ten percent of ticket proceeds were donated to the local nonprofit The Gathering Place. While everyone was dancing their hearts out, the party was quietly helping make a difference beyond the dance floor.
Early Birds Club proved that you don’t have to sacrifice sleep, sanity, or sensible footwear to have an amazing dance party. Sometimes the perfect night out looks like glitter, throwback music, bubbles in the air… and being home at a reasonable hour. Check out future Early Birds Club events here.
