If you don’t know who Drew Barrymore is, you must be living under a rock. At age 7, she starred in the 80’s mega-blockbuster hit “ET,” then battled substance abuse and a reputation as a wild child which she wrote extensively about in her autobiography, Little Girl Lost when she was 16. It affected her career for many years. However, Drew didn’t become another childhood star tragic statistic. She came back stronger than ever in 1995 after co-founding Flower Films and rebuilding her tarnished reputation by becoming a very successful actress, producer, and businesswoman. She starred in such films as “The Wedding Singer,” “Charlies Angels,” “Scream,” “50 First Dates” and “Never Been Kissed.”

These days, Drew has her hand in a bit of everything with her production company, her own line of eyewear, makeup, clothing, and even wine. She even published a second memoir called Wildflower and now she can add, talk show host to her impressive resume. That’s right, Drew has her very own talk show which will air on September 14th on CBS.

So, what type of show can we expect? Drew calls it “Optimism TV.” “I’m in the joy business,” she said. “I don’t carry the umbrella of darkness with me.” “I want this to be a show that celebrates every part of humanity.” In this current climate, we can all use some happy and Drew is just the person to bring it.
