“Sacred Lies” premiered last week July 27, 2018 and fans are tuning in. Executive Producer Raelle Tucker known for “True Blood”, “The Returned”, and “Jessica Jones” serves up a Grimm fairy tale story as a ten-episode drama. The storyline surrounds a teenager girl with no hands, who is suspected of knowing who killed the leader of the cult. Stuck in a juvenile detention center, she meets Angel, played by Kiana Madeira, and slowly dark mysteries unravel.
Based on the Grimm Brothers’ tale called The Handless Maiden, and The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly written by Stephanie Oakes, “Sacred Lies” already has social media a buzz. A new installment of Facebook Watch’s network, this series stars actress Elena Kampouris who brings the character of Minnow Bly to life. Best known for her roles in “Men, Women, and Children” and “American Odyssey”, the New York City-born actress learned from physical disability consultants to help tackle playing a character with no hands.
The dark drama is produced by Blumhouse TV and features half-hour episodes that slowly unwind the mysteries surrounding Minnow’s childhood and the cult leader creepily called The Prophet. She seemingly innocent teen asks her newly found friend, Angel, to teach her the ways of the world by starting with the topic of science.
