If you’ve spent any time online in the last decade (especially deep in the trenches of YouTube sketch comedy or adult animation), there’s a good chance Brandon Rogers has made you laugh, gasp, or wince (probably all three at once). The multi-hyphenate creator, best known for his fearless characters, darkly absurd humor, and emotionally complex storytelling, has carved out a unique space in digital entertainment—and he’s not slowing down any time soon.
Rogers exploded onto the scene with viral sketch characters that ranged from outrageously profane school teachers to obliviously offensive socialites, often pushing boundaries in ways that were both sharp-witted and bizarrely insightful. His breakout success on YouTube led to the creation of original series like Magic Funhouse! and the award-winning Blame the Hero, both of which showcased not only his talent in front of the camera but his writing, directing, and editing chops behind the scenes.
Most recently, Rogers has gained widespread acclaim for voicing Blitzø (The “o” is SILENT!) in the hit animated series Helluva Boss. A role that lets him tap into a whirlwind of comedic timing and emotional depth. Fans have connected with Blitzø’s chaotic energy, tragic backstory, and surprising vulnerability, cementing the character as one of the most compelling figures in adult animation today.
This July, Rogers will be appearing at FanExpo Denver (July 3–6), an event Nerd Alert News is thrilled to be covering again this year. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering the mad brilliance of his work, his appearance is sure to be a convention highlight. We had the chance to catch up with Brandon ahead of the event to talk about character creation, creative chaos, voice acting, and, of course, his love for fandom.
