The recently released open-world role-playing game Genshin Impact is on a great wave of success. The mobile version alone has more than 17 million downloads within a few days.
Last week, the free, open-world role-playing game Genshin Impact was launched for various platforms. After just a few days it becomes apparent that it is floating on a great wave of success. Among other things, this emerges from a current report on the “App Annie” website.
According to this, the mobile version of Genshin Impact alone had more than 17 million downloads within a few days of its launch – worldwide, of course. How exactly this number is distributed across the Android and iOS platforms is not yet known. However, that should by no means diminish the great success of the game. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on the number of downloads for the PC and PlayStation 4 version, so the total number can currently only be estimated.
Although Genshin Impact is principally free, its developers are making ample money through microtransactions. As the analyst, Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners estimates, around 50 million dollars have already been flushed into the coffers in this way. The players have spent the money to buy premium in-game currency, which in turn is used for the gacha system. In principle, this is a special type of loot box. You’re basically paying for the chance of a good weapon or character. The system seems to be well received by the fans, as the current numbers. What about with you?
