It all started with a shared love of the paranormal, a few phone calls between friends, and the G-Crew was born. Of course, if you ask Mitch—it was all his idea.

However, the guys all seem to agree that the idea of G-Crew really started in the mind of Nick Groff. Nick is widely known for his role in “Ghost Adventures,” which he co-created, co-hosted, and executive produced for 10 seasons before moving on to other projects such as “Paranormal Lockdown.” When it premiered, the show reached more than one million viewers, exceeding ratings records for the network “Destination America”.

According to Chad Lindberg, Nick “has always got big ideas and wants to bring people together in creative ways… He said he wanted to do a show interviewing our favorite personalities, celebrities, and people we admire.”

Chad—known for portraying Ash on “Supernatural” and Jesse on the box-office hit “Fast & Furious”—became involved with investigating when he appeared on “Ghost Adventures” in 2012. He went on to co-host the show “Ghost Stalkers” in 2014, and since then has created “Face Your Fears,” an event where he and Lindsay Senter take small groups of people on ghost hunts at different locations around the country. When Nick approached him about being a part of a video podcast, Linberg told us, “Of course, I was on board.”

Thankfully, so was Johnny Houser. He is a paranormal investigator and musician who has made appearances on numerous shows including “Ghost Adventures”, “Paranormal Lockdown”, and “Haunted Iowa.” Houser told us that he met Nick many years ago when filming at the Villisca Axe Murder House and they instantly became like brothers. The same “bromance” formed sometime later when he worked with Chad and John Tenney on “Ghost Stalkers.”

Also along for the ride was Johnny’s long time friend, Josh Heard. With over 16 years of experience as a paranormal investigator, publishing books, and making documentaries, he brings his own brand of expertise into this exciting project. When asked about joining G-Crew, Heard told us “Nick was wanting to start something similar to the small podcast I did, but different. I had no idea what he was cooking up until I was fortunate enough to get a phone call from all the guys one day asking if I would like to be a part of it.”

According to Groff, G-Crew provides a “unique access to the other side with four wild hosts that are an open book.” But the G-Crew is about more than paranormal investigations. It is also friends chatting about life, love, careers, death, aliens, cultures, trolls, music, relativity, and everything in between. As Chad confirmed, “nothing is off limits.”

Watching the show, you are welcomed into a world where Josh assures, “you will laugh, cry, and push your thoughts into new realms…[it is] a melting pot of ideas and theory, with a twist of lemon.”

Johnny says that the G-Crew works hard at “brainstorming ideas to keep things fresh and exciting.” They began by putting together 20 episodes in one month, the first of which debuted back on March 7, 2020, with their good friend, John E. L. Tenney, as their guest. Each week, new guests are added and Nick says one exciting part for him is learning who the next guest will be. He told us that they want “to engage people from all walks of life, to learn and evolve as human beings. It is a thrill when we are speaking to people that have deep thought-provoking stories that move each one of us in a different way.” Chad concurs, stating that, “everyone has a story, and we want to hear it!”

They all agreed that the goal from the very beginning was to have the vibe be more like a group of close friends sitting around talking than a formal interview and, in our opinion, they have more than succeeded. That atmosphere comes across easily on screen and has infiltrated the homes of their viewers as well.

A big part of that magic is that the four of them are such good friends themselves. Josh believes that one aspect of why they all work together so well, is that they all “come from very different backgrounds in the field” and have a “friendship and camaraderie…on and off the screen.”

“These guys are some of my favorite people,” Chad added. “Nothing bonds you quite like filming on the road in insane, haunted locations.”

Of course, the guys all enjoy interacting with the fans, who have been nicknamed simply “G’s.” Lindberg starts out saying, “We’re so honored that so many people are supporting us by becoming a part of the G-Crew!!” The other three readily agree, stating “We love our G’s… We want the world to be G’s.”

According to Nick, season 2 already has over twenty new guests scheduled, adding, “if we can create conversations over dinner and drinks then we feel we’ve done our place.” Currently, they are streaming new episodes each week on Vidi Space and live shows can be caught on their Patreon page.

What’s next for G-Crew you might ask? According to the guys, a nationwide roadshow tour is in the works that will lead them to do investigations at haunted locations. Groff adds that the goal is to “bring different guests with us as we have our conversation unfold in a creepy location.” They also plan to host some live shows that will give them a chance to interact with fans in real-time. The first planned stop is currently scheduled for Texas Paracon in August of 2021.

G-Crew has also just announced a musician contest where the final contestants will be selected by the G’s. The winner, along with a $1,000 grand prize, will win the chance to be featured on all of their social media platforms and have the possibility of traveling to perform with the G-Crew on their tour.  Josh says, “this will give artists a new stage to perform on…a chance for everyone to see the talents that our G’s may be holding back on.” Rules and details of the contest are listed on G-Crew’s Patreon page.

As if that wasn’t enough, Nick alluded to extending their tour to a worldwide platform and even a G-Crew movie in the future. No matter where the road takes them, one thing is for sure, G-Crew is in for a long, wild ride and Nerd Alert News is excited to have a ticket to the show.

We at Nerd Alert News would like to extend our gratitude to Nick Groff, Johnny Houser, Chad Lindberg, and Josh Heard for taking the time to chat with us. We expect to see many big and exciting things from G-Crew in the future and we wish them all the best in their endeavors!
