If you are familiar with the quote “Honey, I shrunk the kids!!” then you will understand why Rick Moranis was brought in to endorse a new wireless phone company.
Mint Mobile is a wireless company which provides very low rates for its customers. Offering “carrier-grade” service for a fraction of the cost compared to other well-known wireless corporations. Actor, writer, producer, and mobile-phone enthusiast, Ryan Reynolds, is also part-owner of this low-cost option, which offers phone services for as low as $15 dollars a month; new unlimited data plans start as low as $30!
Reynolds told Globenewswire.com in November: “I’m excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology.” He also stated on Mintmobile.com, “While every other tech titan is off chasing rockets, I’ll corner the budget-friendly wireless sector. Like most people, I only use rockets 10-12 times a year but I use my mobile service every day.”
To introduce this budget friendly wireless service’s new unlimited plan, Reynolds teamed up with comic legend Rick Moranis in a deliciously funny commercial, which was released yesterday.
After being introduced, Moranis joked, “What do you want me to do..say something about mint?” causing a gleeful Reynolds to blush and confess, “I’m just a really huge fan…massive!” He then went on to explain more about Mint Mobile’s new wireless options.
Moranis’ appearance for the commercial was witty and fun, and perfectly fitting to describe the service Mint Mobile provides. As “an actor we’ve all gone too long without,” said Reynolds, Moranis hasn’t been in the Hollywood scene for many years. He was a major star who made appearances in feature blockbusters like the “Honey I Shrunk The Kids” franchise, and “Parenthood,” among many other films in the 80’s and 90’s. In 2006, he voiced the character Rutt in the movie “Brother Bear 2.” In 2018, he voiced “Lord Dark Helmet” in an episode of “The Goldbergs.” He is set to appear in “Shrunk,” which is in pre-production; the release date is to be announced later.
If you are looking to “shrink” your phone bill, Mint Mobile is the way to go. For more information you can visit mintmobile.com and choose a plan to fit your budget, with options as low as $15.
