Jonathan Joss, a distinguished Native American actor, voice artist, and cultural advocate, passed away tragically in 2025. Best known for his iconic portrayal of John Redcorn on the long-running animated series “King of the Hill,” Joss brought authenticity, depth, and dignity to his roles, elevating Indigenous representation in mainstream media.

Beyond “King of the Hill,” Joss portrayed Chief Ken Hotate on “Parks and Recreation,” displaying his versatile talent across genres. A proud member of the Comanche and White Mountain Apache tribes, he embraced his heritage throughout his career, advocating for respect, understanding, and accurate portrayal of Native American cultures. In addition to his acting, Joss was a gifted musician and entrepreneur, founding the successful “King of the Grill” barbecue spice line. His multifaceted career reflected a deep commitment to creativity and cultural pride.

Jonathan Joss’s life was tragically cut short in 2025. Despite this loss, his enduring contributions to entertainment and Indigenous representation continue to inspire. He will be profoundly missed.
