Audiences have “cut the cord” and are streaming television shows. Networks like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Paramount+, Apple TV, Disney+, and more are what it’s all about lately. Is there still a nerdy audience that watches network TV? There is, of course, The CW always that has many nerds covered with their superhero and sci-fi shows. Yet the proof is in the Emmy Award Nominations that were announced on Tuesday, July 13th. HBO and HBO Max snagged 130 nominations, while Netflix grabbed 129, and Disney+ received 71. Now audiences have some new streaming content to look forward to in July and August.

HBO Max can brag about their historic number of Emmy Noms as they share that their HBO Max Original series “Titans” is heading into season 3. They just released an intense new trailer with an old version of Batman telling the character Dick Grayson that it was over for him. Batman then Grayson that he needs to be a better Batman! The Red Hood says that Gotham was his now that Batman was gone. They face a situation where their world has been turned upside down and they enlist the help of Scarecrow? Sheesh, they must be desperate! The first 3 episodes are out.

Then for the kids, HBO Max has the new “Space Jam” film called “Space Jam: A New Legacy” where we find LeBron running the show. It’s been out since July in theaters and streaming on HBO Max. Besides Bugs Bunny and the rest, a few nerdy favorite actors join the group such as Sonequa Martin-Green and Don Cheadle.

More Warner Media buzz came out this month with the cast reveal for “Blade Runner: Black Lotus.” This highly anticipated animated series will consist of 13 episodes directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama. It boasts an English and Japanese cast that will make it easy to enjoy! The lead character, Elle, is a female replicant created for a secret and unknown purpose. She’s played by Jessica Henwick and Arisa Shida. Other actors include Will Yun Lee and Shinshu Fuji, Samira Wiley, and Takako Honda. Netflix is in the hunt with some new content to chat about. Hot off Pride Month, let’s take a look at this new animated series called “Q-Force.” It is voiced by some amazing actors. The season releases on September 2nd and stars David Harbour, Gary Cole, Sean Hayes, Patti Harrison, Laurie Metcalf, Wanda Sykes, and more. It is about a group of undervalued LGBTQ superspies and is centered on a gay secret agent who is like James Bond. The show sounds intriguing!

Horror fans, we’ve got you covered! Hulu just started their new “American Horror Stories” series. This spin-off of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s hit anthology series “America Horror Story” is a weekly anthology series that will feature a different horror story in each episode. Since 2011, the creators of “American Horror Story” have redefined the horror genre with that creepy asylum series, a coven of witches, that strange traveling freak show, a haunted hotel, and the apocalypse itself! There are dedicated horror fans that look forward to the terrors that these creative people bring them.
