Get to know actor Luyanda Lewis-Nyawo who plays the new Sheriff, Rita Santiago on Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Luyanda wanted to be an actor ever since they played Baloo in a primary school production of The Jungle Book. Now they’re known for their roles in Netflix’s Back in Action & Top Boy, Prime Video’s How to Date Bill Walsh, including a recent episode of the Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures podcast. Along with this exciting second season of Wednesday, they have other projects in the works that we can look forward to.
Heads up, Dungeons & Dragons fans. Luyanda knows their D&D and shares some amazing stories! They’re not only passionate about their gaming, they’re a fan of horror movies, anime, drag, and cabaret.
