‘Star Trek: Khan’ will be out later this year as a new scripted audio series. It will explore the legend of Khan Noonien Singh. As one of our favorite baddies, Khan was a superhuman tyrant, the product of genetic engineering whose insatiable quest for vengeance against Admiral Kirk led to devastating consequences in my favorite of all the Trek films, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.” Production has wrapped on recording that will expand the “Star Trek” universe. ‘Star Trek: Khan’s lead voice cast includes Naveen Andrews (Lost) as the iconic Khan and Wrenn Schmidt (For All Mankind) as Marla McGivers. The exciting project will explore the dramatic untold events that unfolded in the desolate world of Ceti Alpha V after Captain Kirk left Khan and his followers stranded there, paving the way for the iconic clash in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.”
This will answer one of the biggest lingering questions in Trek history: What really happened on Ceti Alpha V? Before he became the Khan we know from “Wrath of Khan,” he was a leader, a visionary, and a survivor. This audio series will take listeners deep into the harsh and desolate world, exploring the challenges Khan and his people faced as they struggled to build a new civilization on a dying planet.
Bringing this story to life is a powerhouse creative team, starting with Nicholas Meyer, the legendary writer and director behind “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”, and writers Kirsten Beyer and David Mack. It will be available for streaming on all major podcast platforms later this year.
