Attention New York comic enthusiasts: Is Saturday, Nov. 18th on your calendar for IACCON?
This one-day event will take over the 17,000-foot Fishkill Recreation Center and celebrate Independent artists. Independent Artists and Comicbook Convention (IACCON) is an event for the entire family, and BONUS: Kids 11 years old and younger get in FREE! This event brings focus back to the artists, writers, and local vendors instead of huge corporations that sometimes take the fun out of larger comic cons. Local Writer Sean Lewis, Marvel Artist Will Torres, Artist Ryan G Browne, and Voice Actors Ryan Andes and Xavier Cadeau are among the wide variety of guests who will be there to meet their fans. Cosplayers including the Hudson Valley chapter of the 501 Legion, Podcasters, a DJ, and artists they can talk with to inspire them to be the next comic book artist. The event will feature Comics, Artists, Collectibles, Writers, Artists, and of course, cosplayers. The holidays are around the corner and vendors and artists can offer ideal gifts. Of course, all of the staples will be there such as reasonably priced Pokemon cards, Magic the Gathering cards, and more.
At IACCON they believe in fostering connections and celebrating these shared experiences. It’s about more than just ink and paper; it’s about the relationships, connections, and shared passions that comics create. The big conventions offer what they can, but it is the smaller events that hold the charm without all of the stress. And, for only $10 a ticket, it’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Stop by and meet some of the podcasters and tell your stories. At IACCON, the spirit of independent artistry, storytelling, and the power of comic books to bring people together takes center stage. Come to IACCON and be a comic book ICON! The event is to take place Saturday, November 18th, 2023 11 am – 5 pm at the Fishkill Rec Center 793 Route 52, Fishkill, NY 12590. Fishkill is conveniently located next to Interstate 84 with a hotel Comfort Suites right a few buildings down. They happen to be just a few minutes away from the Beacon MetroNorth Train station.
