The official trailer is out for the second season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” and bonus: The trailer features a look at a “Star Trek: Lower Decks” live-action crossover! Hello Boimler! Hello Mariner! And check out Spock and Chapel! There is a lot to unpack in the exciting trailer for the show’s sophomore season, and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will pick up where season one left off with the prequel story set a decade before Captain Kirk’s iconic era. The premiere will be Thursday, June 15 on Paramount+ in the U.S, the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The second season will also be available to stream on Paramount+ in South Korea, with the premiere date to be announced at a later time.

Let’s chat crossovers. The special episode featuring the “Lower Decks” stars Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid will present them in live-action form aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. It will also feature animation and was directed by “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and STAR TREK: PICARD actor and director Jonathan Frakes.

According to Paramount, season two of “Strange New Worlds” will feature the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, as they confront increasingly dangerous stakes, explore uncharted territories and encounter new life and civilizations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any “Star Trek” series.

The series stars Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas and Babs Olusanmokun as Joseph M’Benga. Season two also features the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” will take us on a thrilling expansion of the Star Trek universe, introducing us to new civilizations, planets, and dilemmas that will test the crew’s resolve and moral compass. The series continues to embrace the spirit of exploration and discovery that has been a hallmark of Star Trek since its inception.
