July is here and summer has finally kicked off. Prepare for a summer packed with anime featuring returning series like DANDADAN Season 2, Kaiju No. 8 S2, and Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Cour 2 and Season 2! Along with new anime like To Be Hero X continuing throughout the Summer 2025 season. Read on for a look at some of the best anime coming this Summer!
Lord of the Mysteries
Series Synopsis: In a steampunk world of secrets and gods, Klein dives deep into occult power and peril.

Airtime: June 28, Sub-8:00 p.m. PT Dub-TBA
What to Expect: Lord of the Mysteries is a donghua (Chinese animation) based on the critically acclaimed web novel of the same name by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving (Ai Qianshui de Wuzei). The series follows Zhou Mingrui, who wakes up in the body of Klein Moretti in an alternate Victorian-era world. Reincarnated as Klein a beyonder (people equipped with magical abilities) Zhou must navigate this new world filled with machines, magic, and monsters. The series has already been confirmed up to Season 3 with a total of 5 seasons planned due to the length of the web novel. Lord of the Mysteries promises to be a fresh new take on the Isekai genre.
DAN DA DAN Season 2
Series Synopsis: Okarun and Jiji have made a strange discovery, while Momo finds herself under attack! What mysterious encounters await them next?!

Airtime: July 4, Sub/Dub-Thursday at 9:00 a.m. PT
What to Expect: Season 2 of DAN DA DAN follows the Cursed House Arc, where Momo and Okarun travel to a hot springs town to solve the mystery surrounding Jiji’s family home. Fans of the series got a special look at the first three episodes of season 2 in a special feature film titled Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye. The series will once again continue with a simuldub release, so dub fans won’t have to wait to watch.
The Summer Hikaru Died
Series Synopsis: Two best friends living in a rural Japanese village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. Growing up together, they were inseparable… until the day Hikaru came back from the mountains, and was no longer himself. “Something” has taken over Hikaru’s body, memories, feelings… and everything they know begins to unravel.

What to Expect: The Summer Hikaru Died is a thrilling horror story that follows Yoshiki and Hikaru, two young boys living in rural Japan. When Hikaru reappears after mysteriously vanishing, Yoshiki realizes that something isn’t quite right with his best friend. While not explicitly a BL story the series does focus on the close relationship between “Hikaru” and Yoshiki, with “Hikaru” even professing strong feelings towards the other boy. While there hasn’t been an off announcement regarding an English dub release as of yet.
Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Season 2 Cour 2
Series Synopsis: Nene and Kou join Hanako to expose a traitor among the ranks of the Seven Wonders.

What to Expect: Toilet Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 returns for Cour 2. The upcoming episodes are a direct continuation following Nene, Kou, and Hanako as they try to find a way to save Nene from her short lifespan. Season 2 part 2 will most likely adapt the severance and Red House arcs.
Gachiakuta
Series Synopsis: Framed and cast into a trash-filled abyss, Rudo fights monsters and the system that dumped him.
Studio: Bones Film

Airtime: July 6, Sub/Dub-8:00 a.m. PT
What To Expect: Brought to you by the studio responsible for My Hero Academia, and MHA: Vigilantes, Gachiakuta follows Rudo, a young man who lives in the slums. Accused of murder, Rudo is cast into the abyss where he encounters monsters and a group known as the Cleaners who battle against them. The series is set for a simuldub release with the English cast including voice actors Bryson Baugus as the mc rudo, Enjin voiced by Christopher Wehkamp, and Jabber voiced by Zeno Robinson. A podcast titled The Gachiakuta After Show, hosted by The Anime Effect Podcast hosts will feature post-episode discussions.
Sakamoto Days Cour 2
Series Synopsis: The nonstop action of Sakamoto’s not-so-peaceful life enters a new phase.

What to Expect: The action-packed comedy returns for part 2 this July. Part 2 will pick up with Sakamoto and friends, battling it out against The Order, and X (Slur). A new visual for part 2 was revealed at AnimeJapan 2025. It was also announced that Koki Uchiyama will join the cast as Gaku. The series is set to air weekly on Mondays with a simuldub release. A new song, “Method” by Kroi is set to be the opening for part 2.
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2
Season Synopsis: Kafka faces new allies and learns more about No. 8’s power as fearsome Kaiju threats emerge!

Airtime: July 19 Sub- 7:30 a.m. PT Dub- TBA
What to Expect: Kafka Hibino is back and must now work with Gen Narumi Defense Force’s First Division captain to stop the new Kaiju threats that have emerged. Making his debut at the end of season 1 fans can expect Season 2 to follow Gen and the other members of the First Division. While no dub release date has been officially announced fans can expect the series to continue with a simuldub release. A compilation film of Season 1, will be released in theaters sometime this year. The special episode titled “Hoshina’s Day Off” aired on streaming on July 5.
Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE Cour 2
Series Synopsis: The Kingdom of Science pushes forward as the journey to uncover the truth enters its climax!

Airtime: Sub- July 10 at 7:00 a.m. PT Dub-TBA
What to Expect: Dr. Stone continues its fourth and final season this July. Season 4 is split into 3 cours with each cour being 12 episodes total. Cour 2 follows Senku and the Kingdom of Science’s journey in the Americas to discover the source behind the petrification beam, facing down new challenges and avoiding Stanley who is in hot pursuit.
