Thursday night at BGG.CON included a showing of the new documentary, “The Game Designers,” a film by Eric Rayl. Eric was on hand, as were two of the game designers in his film, along with executive producer and Board Game Geek founder Scott Alden. The film follows the birth of the modern gaming movement in the late 80s to its massive expansion about 10 years ago. It covers the big gaming conventions, like Essen and DragonCon, and the German culture of games that led to Eurogaming, and fueled the board game boom.

We follow designers from idea to publishing, with all the ups and downs in the middle. For those interested in gaming culture, this documentary is a must see. You can find it on Amazon or Vimeo.
