IMDB REVIEW:

9 out of 10 stars

I’ve only seen a couple of episodes but so far I am very impressed with this show hosted by Jennifer Marshall. What an impressive resume. A true renaissance woman. Anyway, I appreciate the level-headed approach to the sometimes whackadoodle conspiracy theories and histrionic speculation that plague most of these programs. She uncovers the true story behind the urban myths that gullible birdbrains cling to. It was a pleasure to see some burst bubbles of those whose whole reason for being centers on the existence of Bigfoot, for example. But she is kind and polite, if no-nonsense. I will definitely be looking at more episodes. I hope she keeps up the good work. Would love to see her partner up with Josh Gates.

COMMON SENSE MEDIA REVIEW:

3 out of 5 stars

What’s the Story?

MYSTERIES DECODED is an investigation series that revisits some of the most notorious unsolved mysteries in America. Navy veteran and private investigator Jennifer Marshall heads each investigation, and studies newly uncovered evidence pertaining to cases like the murder of Lizzie Borden‘s parents, the Mothman Prophecies, and even questions surrounding Area 51. With the help of researchers, witnesses, paranormal experts, and high-technology, she looks for evidence that will help point them to some answers.

Is It Any Good?

This dark series combines a few research investigation tactics with paranormal ventures to create a unique form of entertainment. Marshall argues that she’s more apt to rely on concrete evidence, and attempts to find archives, photographs, and other information that can fill in blanks. However, the show’s more captivating moments feature paranormal experts looking for activity from beyond the grave, and speaking to the dead. Despite her doubts, Marshall often appears impressed by these activities, too. Granted, the answers these combined answers come up with are speculative, and often seem to raise more questions than answers. But if you like this sort of thing, you’ll probably find Mysteries Decoded compelling.
