We’re talking concerts, comedy, wellness, award ceremonies, nerds assembling in force, and a whole lot more. From comedy showdowns to queer excellence to full-on fantasy cosplay, Meow Wolf Denver is doing the most this spring. Quirky and unique, this is exactly why we love it. The creators have always been about building immersive, imagination-first experiences that make you feel like you’ve tumbled headfirst into another dimension, and these events will prove it to you.
Known for their unique mind-bending spaces in the multiverse, Meow Wolf takes visitors on the most incredible journeys. These experiences defy convention, and blur the lines between reality and fantasy. It’s not like anything you’ve ever seen! People of all ages are transported into breathtaking realms of imagination and wonder. And we’re not exaggerating. Ask anyone who has been to this magical place.
It originated in Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of the best places to soak up art culture. It has been so popular that locations have been built in Denver, Las Vegas, Texas, and more are planned. Denver’s Convergence Station appeared as a maximalist architectural marvel linking four alien worlds. The unusual-looking white structure is impossible to miss driving through downtown at I-25 and Colfax. Here’s just a taste of the many cool events coming up:
Drop Your Shorts – Mar 10
Do you think you know good comedy? Prove it. Drop Your Shorts is a 10-minute comedy contest where you control the destiny of two dozen local playwrights — and the winner walks away with $700 cash. It’s fast, it’s funny, and the stakes are surprisingly real. Come ready to vote and maybe feel a little powerful.
The DIVA Awards – Mar 16
The DIVA Awards are back at The Perplexiplex, and this year’s event is going to shine. Colorado’s LGBTQ+ nightlife and entertainment community gets the recognition it deserves as outstanding talent and contributions take center stage. Expect a stellar new theme and a room full of the most beautiful, bright energy the queer scene has to offer. Don’t miss it.
Adulti-Verse: Monsters & Magic – Mar 21
Calling all nerds, wizards, and creatures of the night. Meow Wolf is teaming up with Wizard’s Chest and DJ photon_LOOPS for a night dedicated to the fandoms that shaped you. Dress as your favorite character, sip on specialty cocktails, and finally — finally — be surrounded by people who get all your references. MAKE IT SO, Number One.
Absolute Rubbish: EXTRA Terrestrial – Apr 2 (Plan Ahead!)
Okay, this one is technically April, but you need to know about it now. Twenty designers are bringing the most ostentatious, sustainable, out-of-this-world fashion to the cosmos — think astronomical style made from the best trash this side of the Milky Way. It’s avant-garde. It’s eco-conscious. It’s absolutely unhinged. In the best way.
