“Supernatural’s Season 15 has begun with a bang: A bang from a holy gun to be exact. Season 15 was announced as the CW’s flagship show’s final year back in March 2019 and fans had been very anxious for this last installment to begin. Last season ended with the realization that God isn’t actually a good guy and has been messing with the boys’ lives for a while now.
Chuck has become the main antagonist a wild season. The first two episodes really set the story line up. God decided that he was done and exclaimed to the boys “welcome to the end”. All souls from Hell are releasing back into the world, particularly in a small town where the Winchester’s, Castiel and friends are trying to protect. Jack is still unfortunately dead, with a demon named Belphagor now using his body as a vessel to assist Sam and Dean. Even the demons want the world and Hell back to normal.
The second episode really started showing the strain that was on the group. Cas and Dean are definitely not okay. Dean is still very angry with Castiel, and now he feels like what he did with his life was for nothing because of what God is doing. We can only imagine how self-loathing Dean will deal with all of his emotions and the realization that the world may end. Sam is coping quite well so far and is the rock that someone like Cas needs, though they are seemingly all in a bad headspace. Rowena and Ketch thankfully showed up to assist the fellows with all of the ghosts who were wreaking havoc in the town; namely one Jack The Ripper! We even got to see a ghostly Kevin Tran, who, unfortunately, was not sent to heaven by God. Kevin was never treated well and this ending wasn’t that great for him either. Hopefully, this isn’t the end for him.
Viewers found out that Amara was now in Reno on a gambling hot-streak enjoying yoga and massages. God’s sister has really turned into a character to love. She was the most likable out of the two heavenly siblings. God went to her for help but Amara decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and leave him helpless. This seems like a great set up for lots of family drama down the road. Who knows, maybe Amara might even help the Winchester’s!
That being said, this season is just beginning and if “Supernatural” has taught us anything, it is that anything can happen; which generally means tears. Season 15 is going to continue with a bang, the writers definitely have a lot in store for us. Here’s to a good last season, and may all of our favorites not end up dead.
