The Netflix trailer paints a grim picture. Megatron is speaking about losing the allspark and Cybertron slowly dying. He laments having to rule what will be a dead world, with the portion Autobot resistance still on Cybertron. Clearly pictured in the trailer are the Autobots that were left behind as Prime and the rest made their way through the Spacebridge in the Ark; Elita-One, Jetfire, Red Alert, and another not clearly identified.
The trailer cuts to Prime and his group meeting another faction of Transformers, with a completely different symbol, and they are identified as mercenaries. If that is a good thing or bad thing remains to be seen. The snippets of action scenes work well throughout the trailer though they answer very few questions. It leads to the final scene of a menacing figure snarling in the shadows. Quintesson? The Fallen? So many questions still.

With the Allspark gone, Megatron is forced to confront the harsh reality that his Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron. Meanwhile, lost in the darkest reaches of space, Optimus Prime and his team embark on a desperate mission, unexpectedly running into the spacefaring Mercenaries.
