Linger

2030 W 30th AVE

Denver, CO 80211

Take it from horror fanatic, Mandie Stevens of NaN Horror Corner

The first place I went to after landing in Denver for the very first time was Linger. I was visiting for a horror convention, so the rich history of this restaurant, which used to be a mortuary, was the perfect place to go to have a delicious meal. The views were breathtaking because we sat outside overlooking the city. The staff is wonderful and the food was superb. So were the drinks! The whole ambiance of Linger makes it an entire experience. I have to go to Linger now every time I’m in Denver, it’s become a wonderful tradition.

Linger has a great ambiance. They even serve your water in formaldehyde bottles! It also has one of the best rooftop areas in Denver. The view of the skyline and surrounding buildings is incredible, and one might even hear some live music playing down below. It is a bit pricey and parking can be challenging, but it is seriously worth it. The variety of cocktails and amazing food offerings

 Scr3am & Sugar

1974 S Acoma St,

Denver, CO 80223

Invite a friend to coffee and horror movies.

The owner, Nic Johnson set out to create a social setting for people to talk about horror movies, and make connections with strangers. It is a way to build their own social hub! The themed coffee house is actually located inside the oddity shop called Horrid. Right up the alley of horror fans, Scr3am & Sugar makes customers feel right at home and cozy with the horror decor and chill atmosphere. They have a variety of drinks as well as seasonal and themed offerings. Sit back and enjoy a delicious coffee while watching scary movies. Yes, please!

Denver Cat Company

3929 Tennyson Street

Denver, CO 80212

Sip a coffee while petting kitties!

Denver Cat Company is a cat café where at any given time, there are 15-20 rescue cats that may (or may not) want to be held and loved. (If you’re a cat lover, you get it!) This iconic Denver institution serves as a cat rescue and adoption company where visitors can listen to mellow music, maybe read a book, and yes…pet kitties! There is also a little curated gift shop with cat-themed items. The menu is a bare minimum, but it’s not about the drinks. It’s about playing cat Bingo on a lazy afternoon. Reservations are suggested as this place is popular. The cats roam free at night, and they have helped over 3,000 cats find forever homes. Check out the cats currently up for adoption.

Mutiny Information Cafe

3483 S Broadway

Englewood, CO 80113

Come hang out with creatives.

Mutiny Information Cafe is one of Denver’s oldest used bookstores. It is loaded with comics, zines, books, and more. This eclectic coffee shop and bookstore just opened their new location a few months ago and the artsy and cool vibe hasn’t changed at all. Mutiny is always promoting creatives such as talented artists and authors. Check out their event schedule and stop by for some tasty coffee and warm customer service. It is an ideal place to find something you didn’t even know that you needed.

Adrift

218 S Broadway

Denver, CO 80209

This South Broadway tiki bar has all the charm.

Adrift takes you away on a mini island vacation complete with tiki-themed drinks and Polynesian decor. Enjoy a rum-centric cocktail while surrounded by stylish environment of bamboo-lined walls and nautical decor. Passers-by can’t miss the place with its giant tiki statues at the entrance. Pours are known to be pretty generous and the “booziness” is actually calibrated on their menu. Drinks are their specialty, but they have some good food options as well. Reservations are definitely suggested on popular nights.
