Streaming victory & cinema disaster?
Warner Bros. is reacting again to the ongoing pandemic. The coronavirus has overturned the many plans of the film industry. In the face of these extraordinary circumstances, Warner Bros. has now opted for an equally unusual strategy. For this reason, all 17 of the company’s films will be shown simultaneously in the cinema and on the company’s own streaming service next year. The said strips will stay on HBO Max for a month and will only be available again at home theaters after that.
“Wonder Woman 1984: is no longer an isolated incident. It was a big surprise when Warner Bros. announced that the superhero movie would hit theaters and on HBO Max at the same time. The latest announcement, however, takes on completely different dimensions and shakes the cinema industry in particular – at least in the USA. After all, HBO Max is only available in the United States so far.
