One of the hottest shows to hit our TV screens is back. “Yellowstone” has been keeping fans waiting with anticipation for so long. Now the big question on our minds is how losing Kevin Costner will play out. No spoilers, but viewers get their answer in episode 9 which came out Nov. 10th. We’ll leave it at that, except to say, the way they took care of his exit just did not feel right.

Yet, let’s stay positive. The world of “Yellowstone” is bigger than ever, and fans of this iconic show have even more to explore as two thrilling prequels, “1883” and “1923.” If you haven’t watched them yet, where have you been? They’re both so brilliantly made–especially “1883.” How that show didn’t win more Emmys feels like a railroad robbery! At least it did win for Outstanding Cinematography, which it richly deserved. And “1923” builds even more onto the Dutton storyline. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are incredible, and I’m a bit blown away by how physically demanding their roles are. Here is just a taste of what you’re in for.

“1883” follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey through the Great Plans to seek a better future. The series stars Academy Award nominee Sam Elliott, Grammy Award winner Tim McGraw, and Grammy Award winner Faith Hill.

“1923” introduces a new generation of Duttons, as they explore the early 20th century in the Mountain West. The series stars Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford and Academy Award winner Helen Mirren.

Feel like I’m exaggerating? Well, watch the first 2 episodes of each and then leave a comment below. For those who have seen these shows, let us know what you think. In addition to these “Yellowstone” origin stories, I highly recommend checking out more hit series from “Yellowstone’s co-creator and Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan on Paramount+ including:

  • Landman – *new series* premieres November 17, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore
  • Lioness – season 2 streaming now, starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman
  • Tulsa King – season 2 streaming now, starring Sylvester Stallone
  • Mayor of Kingstown – three seasons, starring Jeremy Renner
  • Lawmen Bass Reeves – one season, starring David Oyelowo
