“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” Vincent van Gogh.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience officially opened May 8, 2026, in Downtown Denver at Lighthouse ArtSpace Denver, and from the moment guests walk through the doors, they are transported into the emotional, breathtaking world of Vincent van Gogh. Created by Exhibition Hub, the experience continues the company’s reputation for producing captivating interactive events such as Titanic: An Immersive Voyage, Dinos Alive, and Bubble Planet. Denver’s opening event was hosted by LaKendra Tookes, whose humor and enthusiasm set the tone for the evening.

Before entering, it helps to pause, take a deep breath, and leave the outside world behind. Almost immediately, the experience surrounds guests with music, light, color, and emotion. What begins as curiosity quickly turns into something much deeper. They will form an emotional connection to the artist himself. Many visitors arrive expecting to see The Starry Night, but leave with a greater understanding of the man behind the masterpieces. The exhibit allows guests to feel immersed not only in Van Gogh’s art, but also in his pain, passion, and humanity. Through stunning projections, moving visuals, and tangible 3-D elements, visitors gain insight into where his inspiration came from and how deeply he experienced the world around him.

One of the most unforgettable moments comes in the final room, where Van Gogh’s paintings move across the walls and floor in a mesmerizing color and sound. At one point, a train glides across the landscape while the floor subtly shifts beneath guests’ feet, creating the sensation of stepping directly into the painting itself. It is magical, emotional, and nearly impossible to leave behind. Because portions of the exhibit are tactile and dimensional, guests can truly experience the texture and movement within Van Gogh’s work. His paintings don’t feel static. They feel alive. There are moments of wonder, reflection, tears, and joy woven throughout the exhibit. Just an opinion, while younger children may enjoy the vibrant visuals and interactive elements, this experience especially shines as a memorable date night or meaningful outing for adults.

Two young sisters, Shelby and Savannah– 7th graders at Sagewood Middle School in Parker, CO soak up the experience

Fans of Doctor Who may also appreciate revisiting the beloved episode ‘Vincent and the Doctor’ before attending. The episode beautifully captures the tragedy and brilliance of Van Gogh’s life, and the exhibit echoes that same emotional resonance. If Vincent could have seen the profound impact his art would have on future generations, perhaps he would have understood just how deeply his work touches the human spirit. And May happens to be Mental Health Awareness Month, and what better month to kick off this amazing event. It just adds another layer of meaning to the experience. Beyond the stunning visuals, the exhibit becomes a reminder of the connection between creativity and emotion.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is not simply an art exhibit — it is an emotional journey into the heart, mind, and soul of one of history’s greatest artists. Visitors don’t just observe Van Gogh’s world. For a brief moment, they become part of it. At the end of the experience, there’s an amazing Virtual Reality tour where VR glasses offers some bonus fun, and a gift shop to bring home some treasures. There’s also an art room for those who are inspired to draw. “If you hear a voice within you say, ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means, paint, and that voice will be silenced.”
