Creator Felicia Day just announced that a The Guild: Reunion Movie is officially in the works, and it’s heading to Kickstarter later this summer. With that nerdy glimmer in her eye she stated that they all still look good for their age. And yes, apparently Jeff Lewis has had “so much work done.” According to the announcement, the reunion movie is being planned to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary in 2027. That sentence alone creates anticipation for longtime fans. The plan is simple: sign up now at watchtheguild.com to be the first to know when the Kickstarter goes live. Backers can expect bi-weekly updates, campaign details, and, for those who end up donating, exclusive Guild merch. Which, as Day jokingly promised, will “prove you’re her favorite. All thousands of you.”
Details about the movie are still under wraps, but there has already been a script reading that involved plenty of laughs. The dysfunctional chaos fans love is alive and well. Day also promised that nostalgia will be fully activated, like logging back into an MMO and immediately forgetting what any of your buttons do.
A Guild Built by Gamers, for Gamers
Day also shared a personal message reflecting on how The Guild began back in 2007. At the time, she wanted to show that gamers weren’t just stereotypes and that real friendships could form online. The series went on to run for six seasons, powered by a passionate fan base that helped prove there was absolutely an audience for these heartfelt stories about online communities. The countdown to 2027 has officially begun, and Day is making one thing very clear: this reunion only happens with fan support. So if you’ve ever quoted Vork or rooted for Codex, now is the chance to party up again.
