It’s hard to believe it has been 20 years since Marianas Trench first introduced the world to Fix Me. Released on October 3, 2006, the album marked the beginning of a musical journey that would take the Canadian pop-rock band from its early days to becoming a well known name among fans of the genre. Now, two decades later, Marianas Trench is giving fans a reason to revisit those early days with a special 20th anniversary edition of their debut album, arriving October 2, 2026.

For longtime fans, Fix Me is more than just the band’s first studio album. It’s a reminder of where it all started, bringing back the songs, emotions and sound that first drew listeners to Marianas Trench and helped build the connection they’ve maintained with the band over the years. For some, these songs may bring back memories of discovering the band for the first time, listening to the album on repeat or connecting with lyrics that resonated with them during a particular chapter of their lives.

There’s a certain nostalgia that comes with revisiting an album after two decades, especially when you’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside the music and watch the band evolve. And for anyone who discovered Marianas Trench through its later albums, this anniversary release offers a chance to step back in time, explore the band’s earlier sound and experience the beginnings of the musical journey that would eventually lead to the albums and songs they know and love today.

The anniversary edition includes all 11 original tracks, newly remastered, along with five bonus tracks that give fans even more to explore. Among the additions is “Already Missing,” a previously unreleased demo that was recovered from a burned CD stored in a vault. There’s something especially exciting about getting to hear a piece of a band’s history that has remained tucked away for so long, particularly when it offers a glimpse into the creative process behind an album that helped launch their career. The expanded tracklist also includes “Fix Me (B-Side),” “Primetime,” “Sicker Things” and “Feeling Small (B-Side).” For fans who have spent years listening to the original album, these additional recordings offer something new to discover while revisiting a familiar favorite.

Of course, no trip back to Fix Me would be complete without its original lineup of memorable tracks. Songs like “Say Anything,” “Decided to Break It,” “September,” “Alibis” and “Shake Tramp” helped establish the band’s early identity, combining catchy melodies and energetic pop-rock arrangements with the emotional honesty that would continue to shape their music.

There’s also something special about hearing these songs again with the perspective that comes from 20 years of music. Since Fix Me, Marianas Trench has released albums including Masterpiece Theatre, Ever After, Astoria, Phantoms, and Haven, each representing another chapter in the band’s evolution. Looking back at their debut offers a chance to appreciate just how much their sound and songwriting have developed while still recognizing the qualities that made the band stand out in the first place.

However, the anniversary release isn’t just about the music. Marianas Trench is giving collectors and longtime fans something extra to enjoy with both CD and deluxe 2LP vinyl editions. The physical releases feature updated artwork, lyrics, previously unseen photographs from the original album photoshoot and a message from the band. The deluxe vinyl edition also comes pressed on red and black marbled vinyl, adding a distinctive touch for fans who love collecting physical music.

While remastered tracks and bonus material are always exciting additions to an anniversary release, it’s the opportunity to revisit an album that holds so much history for the band and their listeners that makes this milestone particularly meaningful. Music has a way of taking us back to certain moments in our lives, and albums we’ve loved for years can bring back memories we may not have thought about in a long time. For fans who have been there since the beginning, Fix Me may do exactly that. For newer listeners, it offers an opportunity to discover the early songs that helped shape the band they’ve come to know.

Twenty years later, Fix Me remains an important part of the Marianas Trench story. This anniversary edition gives fans the chance to celebrate that history, revisit familiar songs and discover material that has never been officially released before. Whether you’ve been listening since 2006 or are just beginning to explore the band’s discography, there’s something fitting about returning to the album that started it all.

The Fix Me 20th Anniversary Edition arrives October 2, 2026, on CD and deluxe 2LP vinyl through 604 Records. For fans of Marianas Trench, it’s an invitation to take a little trip back to the beginning and celebrate 20 years of music, memories, and everything that has come since.
