Guy Christie‘s ninth-grade acting teacher helped set him on the path of becoming an actor. Since then he is known for some cool guest spots on Netflix’s “Altered Carbon” and another CW hit “The Flash.” Christie chats about his time on the set of “Supernatural,” his upcoming guest role on “Man in the High Castle,” and how his day was made making a little girl smile while filming “Descendants 3.” Check out his upcoming episode ‘Peace of Mind’ airing Mar. 14, 2019.

Colleen Bement: You play the character of Justin Smith with your guest role on “Supernatural.” Tell us about your fun on the set upcoming episode ‘Peace of Mind.’

Guy Christie: Well it was a pleasant surprise to show up on set and find out that a good friend of mine was playing my stunt double. Always nice to know you’re in good hands! It was also a pleasure working with the leads; they have this ease on and off the camera which comes from consistently delivering great work for 14 Seasons.

CB: Man in the High Castle” is hands-down one of the best shows on TV. I see you’ve got a guest spot in season four. What are you allowed to say about your role? Will the audience love you or love to hate you?

GC: I’m really grateful to have a part is such a wonderful show. Amazon is proving to be quite the leader in the industry. Often tv shows can try and cram as many scenes as they can in one day of shooting, but on this show, they take their time to get it right. It felt more like a film set in that way. There’s not a lot I can say about my character until it airs, but I’m hoping audiences will have both a love and hate relationship with him!

CB: How did you get into acting?

GC: I have to give credit to my grade 9 acting teacher, Miss Leggett. I was quite the shy loner type, and she introduced me to improv and also cast me as Plato in the play Rebel Without a Clause. I really just played myself, which was perfect for the role. I learned that it was ok to be me. And then competing in Improv at a National level really taught me that it was also ok to explore and reveal the zaniest parts of myself. I went on to perform musicals for four summers in a row in Nelson, BC. I think performing live created an excellent foundation from which to work as a film & tv actor.

CB: Do you have any other projects in the works that you’re allowed to chat about?

GC: Well I had a small role in the Disney movie Descendants 3 which comes out this year. It follows the adventures of the teenage kids of the iconic Disney characters. They actually flew me out to location and we shot at a beautiful castle. But my favorite moment was seeing the reaction of my friend’s seven-year-old daughter when some of the lead characters said hi to her over video. Priceless.

CB: How do you spend your time off the set?

GC: I’m also a real estate agent in Vancouver and I feel very blessed to have a job I love that allows me to pursue my passion for acting. Those two careers are quite demanding on my time but I still find time for skiing in the winter and tennis in the summer. Travel is also very important to me so I’m currently planning a trip to Spain and Portugal. You only live once!
