Tim Burton and the “Addams Family” – a perfect combination! His announced Netflix series on Wednesday Addams can only be a hit!

Tim Burton, 62, will make his TV debut as a director – and it couldn’t be any other series than one about the Addams Family. Or rather: a series about Wednesday Addams, which for many is probably the best character from the most terrible family in the world.

Addams Family”: Tim Burton’s new Netflix series is about Wednesday Addams

The last live-action film about the Addams Family came out in 1998, and although there was an animated film recently, those who got into the ’60s series or the’ 90s films (especially the one with Anjelica Huston and Raúl Juliá) grew up, this family will certainly be missed terribly.

Together with Netflix, the director of “Edward Scissorhands” will create a live-action series, the name of which of course could not be anything else than “Wednesday”. It will be about Wednesday Addams’ teenage phase – and her stay at “Nevermore Academy” where, as expected, things are far from easy.

What “Wednesday” will be about

Wednesday Addams is on her way to adulthood, and that’s the journey she should embark on at Nevermore Academy. There she has to learn to come to terms with her psychic abilities, to control them, and to establish relationships with others. In addition to this coming-of-age story, she also finds herself in the middle of a series of murders that terrorize the city and that she tries to stop.

Additionally, although Tim Burton’s series will focus on the Addams daughter, Morticia and Gomez will also be part of the story as Wednesday has to solve a mystery related to their parents.

Episodes and Cast of Tim Burton’s “Wednesday”

Since Netflix has just confirmed that the show got the green light, nothing is known about the cast at the moment – including who will bring “Wednesday Addams” to life and follow in the footsteps of Lisa Loring and Christina Ricci.

What is already known, however, is that the first season will consist of 8 episodes. We are sure, however, that there will be many more episodes because the combination of Tim Burton and the Addams Family can only be a hit.

We’ll have to wait until 2022 to see Wednesday in action, but we have no doubt that the wait will pay off in the end.
