It feels like half Hollywood is involved in the upcoming Netflix movie “Don’t Look Up” by ” The Big Star” director Adam McKay. But who is playing and what is the movie about?

In the last few months, it has been gradually announced who will play in the movie. But now we know of very big names that will be seen there.

Don’t Look Up” is staged by Adam McKay, who has already proven to be a real star magnet in the past. For his films “Vice – The Second Man” and “The Big Short” he worked with Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Ryan Gosling, and Steve Carell together. Incidentally, McKay won an Oscar for his script for the financial crisis satire “The Big Short”.

“DON’T LOOK UP”: “ARMAGEDDON” SCENARIO AS A COMEDY MOVIE

Adam McKay also wrote the screenplay for “Don’t Look Up” and anyone who knows the work of the author and director a little knows that he is rarely completely serious.

And so “Don’t Look Up” becomes a satirical comedy – and this time it’s not about finances or politics, but about nothing less than the threatening end of the world!

That’s what it’s about: An asteroid is racing towards Earth and its impact would destroy all life. But nobody seems to notice the impending catastrophe – except for two astronomers, who are so little lights in their company that nobody takes their warning seriously. Because no one from the higher levels wants to listen to them, the two of them unceremoniously start a huge media campaign to simply warn humanity directly.

NETFLIX START 2021

Netflix has not yet announced who exactly will take on which role, but the industry magazine Variety already knows more: The roles of astronomer will be played by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Shooting should start this year, so we expect the start of “Don’t Look Up” on Netflix at the end of 2021.

A limited theatrical release for a possible Oscar consideration is to be expected with this star line-up and Adam McKay on the director’s chair.
