Heh heh, heh heh heh. Fire! Fire!
In 1993, MTV launched the Mike Judge animated show, “Beavis and Butthead,” and the culture has never been the same. Now, Comedy Central and Mike Judge have announced a reboot, with two new seasons, specials and spinoffs.
Beavis and Butthead, and their unique view on the world, were the stars of a show that was part cartoon, part social commentary, and part music videos. It usually featured Beavis and Butthead, sitting on their couch, watching music videos, giving their take on the music, the stars, and the world.
The show launched two spinoffs: their next-door neighbor became Hank Hill, of King of the Hill, and their classmate Daria got her own show. Daria currently has her own reboot on Comedy Central.
Known for being crude, adolescent, and irreverent, the show spawned many catchphrases and people imitating their signature voices.
As before, Judge is the driving force, providing voices, writing, and producing the show. Judge is also known as a filmmaker, with films like “Office Space” and “Idiocracy.” Judge will be working with Comedy Central and 3 Arts, the production company that originally made Beavis and Butthead.
“Beavis and Butthead” were Generation X. It will be interesting what they have to say about today.
