With “Cowboy Bebop,” Netflix is bringing a series into his program that is associated with high expectations. The popular animation series by Japanese filmmaker Shinichirō Watanabe is receiving a live-action adaptation with “Cowboy Bebop,” the first images of the series have been published – and we also have a start date.

John Cho is Spike Spiegel

The first pictures of “Cowboy Bebop” show John Cho in his role as Spike Spiegel. The Internet is already enthusiastic and the already high expectations of the live-action adaptation are now a lot higher. For many fans of the template, one thing is certain: Cho is the ideal cast for the “Cowboy Bebop” protagonist. Unsurprisingly, Netflix stuck to John Cho despite launch issues.

Shortly after filming began, Cho injured his knee so badly on set that he was out for months. Although it would have been easy to reassign the role at the time of production, Netflix immediately announced that it would remain loyal to Cho. The first pictures of “Cowboy Bebop” confirm A good decision.

But of course, Spike Spiegel doesn’t beat the dangerous intergalactic adventures in the real series alone. In addition to John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda are at the center of the first cowboy bebop pictures.

Shakir, who many probably know from “The Deuce,” will appear as Jet Black. Pineda, who we last saw on screen in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” plays Faye Valentine.

But let’s also talk about the four-legged friend who is already posing in one of the photos. Without a, of course, nothing works. In the pictures, Pinedas Faye has the intellectually improved ball of fur on a leash.

What we know about “Cowboy Bebop”

The Netflix series is based on the Japanese anime series of the same name from 1998. This comprises three seasons with a total of 26 episodes. Western elements are skillfully mixed with the science fiction genre.

The action of “Cowboy Bebop” is set in the year 2071. A group of bounty hunters, the so-called cowboys, hunt through space with their spaceship, the bebop, and fulfill their tasks in the process.

In the anime, the ship’s crew initially only consists of two members. But as the series progresses, more people join. The fact that each person contributes to the success of the cowboy bebop missions with their very special skills in their own way is an important component of the series. We will see how Netflix will handle this.

Cowboy Bebop: the start date is clear!

“Cowboy Bebop” is on Netflix on November 19th, around three years after the series was announced. After months of hiatus from filming due to the knee injury that John Cho sustained, “Cowboy Bebop” also had to take a break from the pandemic. The series is ready in March 2021.
