From Executive Producer James Wan, this new animated series from Warner Bros. Animation looks to bring humor and a fresh take to the Aquaman franchise. This three-part animated mini-series is heading to HBO Max on Oct. 14, 2021, and it hilariously starts out with Aquaman’s first day on the job as King of Atlantis. It does not look easy. It stars the voice talents of Cooper Andrews (The Walking Dead) as Aquaman, Gillian Jacobs (Community) as Mera, Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) as Vulko, and Dana Snyder (Jellystone!) as Ocean Master. The Executive Producers are James Wan and the Warner Bros. Animation. The trailer came out today and it definitely looks entertaining.
The trailer shows that this animation is definitely not our parent’s “Aquaman” from the 60s. It’s updated and funny and looks to appeal to the entire family.
Aquaman is the King and his first day is looking pretty rough!
Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water-controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time, and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the throne!
