June brings us the beginning of Summer. It also brings fresh new content to check out on Netflix. Yes the weather outside is sunny, but sometimes it feels good to just plop yourself in front of a TV screen and lose yourself in creativity.
Sci-fi and Anime fans can look forward to either new seasons or new shows.
“The Umbrella Academy” is giving us a third season of its successful series. Now that Spain’s “Money Heist” (La Casa de Papel) finished its run after five seasons, Korea is remaking it with new talent with “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.” Anime fans can check out the new show “Spriggan” that has to do with ancient alien civilization’s relics found on Earth. Is it an Anime “Warehouse 13?” For those interested in Japanese culture, the show “Sing, Dance, Act: Kabuki featuring Toma Ikuta” looks pretty interesting. Then there is kind of a nerd heaven with “Geeked Week.” It will feature movies, TV, and games!
Dive into the details below.
The Umbrella Academy
Season 3
US release: June 22nd, 2022
Synopsis:
After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy return home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?
