“Cosmos: Possible Worlds” premieres Monday, March 9, at 9/8c on the National Geographic Channel immediately after.

Please feel free to visit our previous article introducing “Cosmos: Possible Worlds
containing information on the history of 40 years of the “Cosmos” series of documentaries
and an introduction into our Host Neil deGrasse Tyson. This article also contains some
background into the minds behind the scenes as we traverse into the newest iteration of
most card-carrying nerds favorite educational programing “Cosmos: Possible Worlds.”

There was a surprise at the end of “Ladders to the Stars” that I intentionally did not mention
in my review where we see a fleet of small solar sail sensors pushed on an artificial wave of
light from earth to a far distant star to investigate what they find and explore the cosmos for
us hinting of the future. This teaser of what is to come perfectly prepares our minds for the
coming information in our second show out of thirteen “Cosmos: Possible Worlds’ Episode 2:
The Fleeting Grace of the Habitable Zone”. We have all come to the realization that the
earth is in a position of prosperity and safety finding what we call the Goldilocks Zone hinting
at a fable of old reminding us that we exist in a miraculous and perfect moment of time
where everything on earth is “just right” to promote life. But what happens when this solar
system and this stone planet no longer supports the life it created and Noah’s ark is not the solution to the survival of our species along with the species we need in this interconnected
ecosystem.

‘Cosmos: Possible Worlds’ Episode 2: “The Fleeting Grace of the Habitable Zone” is simply
spectacular showing us some of the most stunning and horrific images of our home being
swallowed up with the failure of our own star, the Sun. Thankfully we know there is hope and
other planets exist far away that we would call our future paradise or life raft in a sea of
nothing maintaining life that we shall seed as our own. We are reminded of the beauty of our
world and how well it supports us but also that we are diverse, capable and adaptable to the
point of terraforming and building a world for our own purpose. Humanity needs to know who
we are, value life to the point of looking to the stars to protect it and value the knowledge and
abilities we have developed to enrich time and the future, and all on our own because we
see change coming.

Fellow Nerds of the Round Table, join me and our nerdy followers to enjoy this truly
spectacular presentation of what we were, where we are and who we will be this coming
