Ever since Disney purchased the rights to certain Marvel titles, it’s theme parks have been adding more and more content for not only Disney princess fans, but superhero fans as well, and one of its biggest editions is right around the corner. Opening June 4th, Avengers Campus will be Disney California’s latest involvement for Marvel fans to feel like they’re entering the world of Marvel superheroes. This latest edition has been years in the making, and Disney has spared no expense when it comes to park goer’s experience. From the attractions, to the food, to actors dressed up as the characters themselves, it’s a immersive experience directly geared at Marvel fans.

This Marvel section starts off with an attraction called Web Slingers, an experience involving the web slinger himself, Spider-Man. The premise is that Peter Parker’s otherwise helpful spider bots are stuck in a replication mode, and have escaped from the workshop. Participants must help Peter get the bots under control, and hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle where they have to help weave a web to trap the spider bots as the robotic spiders continue to level up and become more difficult to defeat. This attraction is available to all ages.

After helping defeat robotic spiders with Peter Parker, Disney guests can move on to Mission: Breakout to kick it with intergalactic heroes, The Guardians of the Galaxy. On this ride, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot are being held captive by The Collector until Rocket manages to escape. Rocket enlists the help of the rider to get his fellow Guardian’s back, while music inspired by the playlists from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies plays over the speakers. This ride involves six different storylines, big drops, and special effects, making it only available for teens and adults.

Once park-goers are done being a hero with Rocket, they can take advantage of some of the Marvel encounters, like the Ancient Sanctum from Doctor Strange. Here, participants will get to meet Doctor Strange and see him perform some of his magical abilities while learning about the mysteries and secrets of the multiverse. Visiting this part of the park after dark reveals a secret! This exploration is available for all ages.

Possibly the most exciting expansion of the park is yet another encounter, this time at the Avengers Headquarters where the park-goer finds themselves part of the Avengers new recruits. Yet another part of the park available for all ages, this section is home to many of the Avengers ranging from Iron Man to Black Panther, with a little bit of everyone in between. The Avengers Quinjet even rests on top of the headquarters. This encounter even involves a performance from the Avengers when the Avengers Headquarters finds itself under attack. Recruits can also train alongside the Dora Milaje, Black Panther’s bodyguards, before moving on to another section of the expansion to find a Marvel-themed bite to eat.

The Avengers Campus offers a variety of different Marvel experiences to dine at, including Pym Test Kitchen, a reference to Ant-Man. This restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even has vegetarian options. The sizes of some of the food items make the restaurant look like it’s come in to contact with Pym Particles, with novelties such as gigantic soda cans and huge menu boards from recycled cellphones. The park even includes the Shawarma Palace, which is a call back to the very first Avengers movie where the original Marvel Cinematic Universe Avengers stop at a shawarma restaurant after battling Loki. After having a meal, you can move on to grab dessert at Terran Treats, a food cart offering churros, or sip on some alcoholic beverages at Pym Tasting Lab.

A final stop for guests has to include snagging some Marvel merchandise, and no Disney experience is complete without a stop at the gift shop. The Avengers Campus includes shops like WEB Suppliers, where fans can purchase items like the Spider Bots that they battled earlier, and kits to create your own webs like Peter Parker. This part of the park also includes the Campus Supply Pod for all of your apparel needs, and The Collector’s Warehouse with shelves lined with comic books, action figures, collectibles, and clothing. The shops have items for both adults and children, so no one is left out!
