Richard Speight, Jr. released his debut album “The Dance and How to Do It” by Dick Jr. & the Volunteers. The album officially dropped on November 22nd, but the Kickstarter backers received early access the day before. The band consists of artists Jason Manns, Billy Moran, Rob Humphreys, Cooper Appelt, Zachary Ross, Zachary Darling, Rob Benedict, Emma Fitzpatrick, and Molly Rogers. Manns produced the album with his own record company Caroline County Record Company, named after his hometown. It’s no secret that this is a country album, but it’s an eclectic one.

Listed as a country-rock album on CDBaby, there is no surprise when you see the track listings such as Raspberry Beret, Me and Paul, Living at Night and many more! The album is so different yet so Richard Speight, Jr! There are two originals on the album, Cautionary Fairytale written by Rob Benedict and Going Straight writer by Richard Speight, Jr. Emma Fitzpatrick, and Zachary Ross. It’s a lovely personal touch to a cover album to have two originals created by the friends of the artist.

Many people know Speight from “Supernatural” and the convention circuit where he has gotten the chance to perform live alongside Louden Swain for years. It is really lovely seeing Speight taking the steps to create himself as the musician everyone knows him to be.

The physical copy of the album has amazing photos that show the hard work, fun, and whiskey from the studio while creating this masterpiece. You can download and buy a physical copy on CDBaby. Stay tuned for more “The Dance and How to Do It” content and special thanks to Richard Speight, Jr. and Jason Manns for deciding to make this awesome album!
