Due out this fall, this is the first “Star Trek” series geared towards younger audiences. It is about a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy in search of a better future. It is produced by the Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Productions and developed by Emmy® Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters and Ninjago). The cast has an exciting lineup featuring the voice talents of Kate Mulgrew (Hologram Janeway), Brett Gray (Dal), Ella Purnell (Gwyn), John Noble (The Diviner), and Jimmi Simpson (Drednok).

The main title sequence was released today and it was visually stunning. Who else but Academy Award-Winning Composer Michael Giacchino could create the magical music behind the titles. The main title sequence was also released today and it was visually stunning. Who else but Academy Award-Winning Composer Michael Giacchino could create the magical music behind the titles. According to Giacchino, he was excited to have had the opportunity to write the main theme for Kevin and Dan’s latest project, and as always am thrilled to be a part of the ‘Star Trek’ family.

Along with the impressive video, Paramount+ revealed the first images of the villains. The Diviner played by John Noble also happens to be one of the main character’s father, Gwyn (Ella Purnell), is someone who is out there that the kids need to find salvation through. Then there is Drednok played by Jimmi Simpson, who is The Diviner’s temporal android who is essentially there to keep him on task. The actors behind them shared a bit about their character’s relationships. According to Noble his character appears to have the authority role and will have a bit of conflict.

Jimmi Simpson shared that he was there to serve. He adds that he’s kind of like Maximillian in “The Black Hole” but a little more verbose, crossing Maximillian with Hal. He has one goal in his robot life and that is to serve.

According to Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman, the story begins in the Delta Quadrant and we will watch them make their way to the Alpha Quadrant getting closer to Starfleet. Whether they want one or not, these kids will have a hologram advisor, and there is no one better than “Voyager” Captain Janeway. Welcome back Kate Mulgrew! The actress expressed her joy coming back to the “Star Trek” universe by saying that Janeway had defined an era for her. She felt that playing a hologram was a clever and exciting way to introduce her character to this new demographic of children.

Along with the Trek goodness, Paramount+ continues its success after adding 6.5 million new subscribers since they started six months ago. The network credits its success to its incredible diversity in content that covers kids, drama, sports, films, and live offerings, and exclusive originals. The programming for children includes an episode library of over 7,000 episodes and will be coming out with a new “Rugrats,” a Halloween special, and a live-action “Fairly Odd Parents.” This along with “Spongebob” and “Paw Patrol” will keep the little ones happy.

The adults have plenty to watch with a new “Paranormal Activity” due out in time for Halloween, “South Park Films,” and, of course, the amazing “Star Trek” content. Season 2 of “Picard” is due out soon along with “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” based on Captain Christopher Pike.

Stay glued to Paramount+ that offers a low-cost sub subscription tier of just $4.99 per month.
